Research Interests

Cancer Genetics
Tumor Markers
Children Cancer

Research Overview   Our group has sought to identify and understand the mechanisms of biological markers that may be involved in the diagnosis, prognosis and in treatment orientation of childhood and adolescence tumors. We concentrate our research in those tumors that still represent a major challenge in pediatric oncology, bone/soft tissue sarcomas and brain tumors. An important group of patients with these tumors are resistant to conventional therapies and another group has variable degrees of toxicity. Our main focus is to understand the genome of osteosarcoma host and the relationship between osteosarcoma cancer stem cell and drug resistance and response to treatment.
